How long have you been moderator?:
I have been an active moderator on the server for approximately 2 months now. I started my activity as Trial-Moderator in mid-to-late September, after which I was accepted as an official Moderator. The 2 months I mentioned previously do include my time as a Trial-Moderator, so it may or may not affect the length I have been as an “official” staff member.
Rank you wish to apply for:
Administrator
Are you willing to fill the 4 hours a week Quota? (1-2 hours a day for 4 days of the week starting after meeting friday):
I will most likely be able to fill the given hours. I believe that in my time as moderator, I have shown that I am able to be online for more than the required amount. Although, I would most likely be able to devote even more time in the future, if needed.
Are you willing to hop on when asked/needed? (This is more about when you're playing other games rather than certain life circumstances):
In situations like these, I will almost, if not always be able to get online. I have a dedication to the server that I wish to uphold, and in time when hackers and other nuisances are online, I would be more than happy to punish them in the appropriate manners.
Rank you are right at this moment in the server:
I am currently the rank of Moderator, and have been for about 2 months.
Why do you want the promotion/Why do you think you deserve it?:
Overall I know that I’m not the one to decide whether or not I deserve the requested rank, but I do believe that I would be able to contribute more in ways that I was restricted from while being a Moderator. I would be able to have access to more commands, which would immensely support the work I would attempt to do as an Administrator.
Will you be committed and protect our members of the Imperial Brotherhood?:
Of course. This server is my favorite server to relax on. It’s my online home. I know everyone that comes on, and they know me. I would do anything in my power to keep the populous of the server happy and comfortable while in the Imperial Brotherhood server.
Other information (Scheduling/Circumstances/etc):
I believe that the only other information I should include is my day to day schedule.
Mondays - Fridays, I have school from 7:40 to 2:30 p.m. I am most often able to get on at around 4-5 p.m. on school days, if there are no other interruptions. On weekends however, if there are no interruptions or unplanned events, I most likely would be able to contribute a majority of the day to the server.
Scenarios
Scenario One (A): What would YOU consider as "Staff Harassment"?
I would personally believe the term “Staff Harassment” to be accurately defined as staff members abusing their powers in nonconsensual and obnoxious ways. For example, if a staff member is using godmode to not get killed, yet continue to kill other players, that would be Staff Harassment. If they use any of the commands to give themself the ability to overpower, or outright annoy other players, that, in itself, would be Staff Harassment.
Scenario Two (B): If a player came on the server and was distressed, and wanting to kill themselves, how would you handle the situation?
In the case of this happening, I would do a multitude of things. First of all, I would inform the staff immediately, in order to get some support and/or higher ups deciding on actions.
Afterwards, I would attempt to talk with them to the best of my abilities. I have experience with talking people out of suicide, so I may be a bit more comfortable when it comes to dealing with this drastic of a situation.
If I could, I would attempt to get them to move from the public voice chat into a steam chat, or discord call, so we would be able to converse in a private setting.
Overall, I would try to calm them down. Whether it would need to be through voice or text chat, I would still attempt to do my best to keep them calm and/or stable, until a more qualified person can handle the situation.
Scenario Three (C): If someone was indirectly dissing a race/religion/gender, how would you act?
In the event of indirect harassment of a race, religion, or gender, I would begin with a warning. If they are overall aggressive with their mannerisms, and become outright toxic, then it would become a silence. If they are not aggressive, however, I would be a bit more passive. A verbal warning would be given, then a mute if they continue to diss the target of their aggression. Harassment towards players on our server should not, and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Scenario Four (D): What would you do if a staff member higher than you hops on the server drunk/high?
If a staff member of a higher rank got onto the server while intoxicated, I would attempt to talk them out of using voice or text chat until they are sober enough to function effectively. If these attempts do not work however, I would try to remove or silence them however I could, and if need be, I would try to get the attention of another higher up. I would not want the actions of another staff member to affect the portrayal of our community as a whole.
Scenario Five (E): How would you act when a guest is picking on a girl player on the server? (doorblocking, Stalking, Rdm, Harassment)
If any guest was harassing a player, whether male or female, I would promptly give them a verbal warning upon noticing. If they continue to harass the victim, a kick from the server would be required. If, upon reconnecting to the server, they have not learned their lesson, then they will be met with a ban. Our goal here at Imperial Brotherhood is to create a safe and welcoming environment for people, and anybody violating that mindset will not be tolerated within our server(s).
Scenario Six (F): A Higher Ranking staff member is online, and you see that a user is being disrespectful, would you wait for the Higher Rank to take care of it?
I would not wait to take action. It is our job as staff to take care of people and create a fun environment for them. Even if a Trial-Moderator and a Head Admin is on, they should still both take action upon seeing disrespect and violation of our rules. The only condition that would result in me not taking action, would be that of another staff member already in the process of punishing them. Otherwise, if a staff member is on, but not paying attention or not punishing the violator, I would not wait to take action.
